I went to my local Best Buy today and I actually saw both of these on display. The Premium was fully working in the demo mode, and you could mess with it. They look just like the leaked images. The model numbers are EB-STATE6L for the Premium and EB-STATE6 for the Enhanced. I can’t believe I am the first person to report seeing them. I didn’t realize they weren’t revealed yet until hours after I got back when I went online to learn about them.

Did you inquire about a release date or anything mentioned on the info plate thing?

The info plate was updated. I did not ask about a release date as I already have the 5th generation model. I went to the store for unrelated reasons, and I just noticed them as I was looking around, so I thought I would tell you I saw these even though they haven’t officially been unveiled. I had no idea that ecobee was going to release a new thermostat, let alone that I would see something in the flesh working before its manufacturer announces it.

I have Ecobee and I love the ability to use “Hey Siri,” sometimes it just makes it easier, like before I go to sleep and I don’t want to have my phone light up in a dark room. I also have 4 sensors throughout the house, haven’t used those to setup HomeKit automations yet though, it would probably drive my family crazy. It is nice to be able to see the temps throughout the house, especially since I just replaced the HVAC unit, my contractor loved seeing that as he was balancing the system.

Unfortunately the new version also comes with a LCD screen according to the specs.
I did end up getting the Enhanced model and I must say the LCD quality is much improved from the Lite model. It definitely has darker blacks and it's like a liquid retina display with rounded corners for a more seamless look. It also looks like it might be a higher resolution screen as the GUI elements also look sharper. OLED would definitely have been perfect but the new LCD display is an improvement for sure.
