I just ordered the ion4 in black/carbon. I'm looking forward to it arriving. If you sign up on the website you can get a discount code so it helps a little.

I ordered a tactical element case the day they sent the email. Later that evening i received confirmation from paypal and then a fedex shipping confirmation.

Later that evening i got an email from element saying the case had not been shipped and wouldn't be. They said it was do to "unforeseen circumstances beyond their control".

They credited me back. It was strange. It looks like they sent that email and many of the models weren't ready to ship yet

Ever have ANYTHING positive to say? What makes you the resident aesthetics expert?

maybe you mis understood.. I am not calling the units ugly (yet). I am saying these "themes" are dumb selling to public left over non function cases. I dont have anything positive to say when my 2 elements are non working, including a spectra pro nor is my return 'approved".

Oh and yes i think these are ugly.

And i am entitled to my opinion so buzz off vapor employee

Temper temper professor case-whiz. I am attending a university for a master's degree. Apparently I have a long way to go to catch up to the extensive research you have done to make your, oh-so-accurate representations of nothing. Say something with some teeth for once, will ya?

I agree with nomoregames, it look like the original style case that was refinished and sold off. If they really wanted to, they could have done this tactical edition using spectra cases with the plastic insert instead. At least there seemed to be less complaints of signal/gps problems. If you have the original case and did not have these problems, then the tactical cases should be great.

Received the khaki Ion 4 this evening. No pictures yet but I'm working on it. In the meantime I'll give some preliminary thoughts.

The TPU polymer material is flexible enough to allow you to work the case onto the phone but at the same time stiff enough that once it's on, I don't think you'll have to worry about it becoming loose. I should preface my comments about putting the case on by saying that my phone currently has an SGP crystal back protector, Ultra Optics screen shield, and Lucky Labs spectra wraps so YMMV. The installation was not particularly easy for me because once I slid the bottom of the phone in, the top two corners were hard to manipulate onto the phone without possibly wrecking the spectra wraps or the screen shield (at least I thought I might wreck them if I forced the case). In any event, this is not a case that I would want to take off and put back on frequently.

With the case on the phone, it has a good feel thanks to the textured sides and I would have no worries about damage to the phone if dropped. I quite like the look of the case, especially the backplate. The case comes over the sides of the phone so there is the ability to lay it with the screen facing down. That being said, the case hugs the phone tightly enough that it has bubbled my screen shield slightly in a couple of places. Like I said before though, YMMV depending on whether you have front and back protectors, etc.

The camera opening is a good size and shouldn't cause problems with the flash. The cutout for the 30-pin connector is nice and big and it isn't too deep so you might be able to use some docks (I have none so I can't confirm this). And the cutout for the volume buttons is good and allows for easy access. Ditto for the headphone jack and on/off button.

Overall this is a good case however I don't believe it justifies the $60 (plus exorbitant shipping) price tag. The biggest negatives are that it wasn't easy to install (maybe due to my other accessories) and it's bubbling my screen shield. However, it's a smart looking case and will provide good drop protection. Hopefully I'll be able to post up some pictures soon.

free shipping and promo code

I actually just purchased an Ion 4 (khaki/kevlar) case for myself and a Vapor 4 Urban Camo for my husband as a gift. Bought it on tekcases.com - same price as Element, but I got free priority shipping and 10% off using a promo code. I think it was FREE10? I had originally ordered the Arctic Camo by mistake and had to return it for an exchange - they were great about the whole thing and I received my order in 2 days. tekcases.com was the only place I could find the Tactical camo line for sale.

You tell 'em.

Got the ion kahaki case a few days ago, here's my impressions.

1. The Kevlar backing is ever so slightly eschew (nitpicking)

2. The rubber is much harder than I thought it would be, not a loose silicone case. Probably hard to get out, haven't tried yet.

3. Case looks really hardcore military, but it's really all for show. The case adds no real extra protection over any other basic case (maybe against bullets?). I think an army guy would be far better served buying a lifeproof case for the same money (haven't tried one out, only speculating).

4. Kevlar seems to block reception.. Im getting missed calls and dropped calls.. Not great.

can somemone post a pic of the ion4 maybe next to a apple bumper or pixel HD ? Im trying to determine how thick this case is.
Thanks
