hey there, I bought a new Macbook C2D a week ago from a CD Blackbook, and I just swapped out the hard drive. obviously this disabled my wireless, function keys on the keyboard, and a few various other things. When I got back into OSX after the reinstall, I have a new ethernet port, en3, and it is always "connected" but it is a self assigned IP so it does nothing. No cord is plugged in, and when I do plug an ethernet cord into my ethernet port, it just starts up en1 (my actual ethernet adapter)

So help me out here, it really isn't hurting anything, but is there a way to disable it? it is kind of annoying seeing it when I am not on the internet at all.

yes I did, but I reinstalled OSX before I installed Paralells and it was there before.
