ok so here's the go. i've got the older white macbook laptop.
just got delivered was my brand new Dell U2410 monitor (drool) and the adapter from apple that converts mini dvi to dvi-d.
the monitor is sitting here and i plug it into my mac via the adapter using the dvi cable provided by Dell and the external monitor displays the default apple background and i can move my mouse around on the screen but that's it.
how do i get it to work properly? do i HAVE to use a seperate mouse/keyboard or can i use the macbook keyboad ?

edit: managed to get it working :) im so silly. heheh.

hahahaha yeah. just had to goto system preference and move the menu bar.
i tell you what though, what they say about the searing eyes effect from a dell monitor is true.

What's the searing eyes effect?

I've got a black Macbook (no display port, just DVI) and I'd really like the 24" ACD, but obviously, this won't work with the DVI. Not yet ready to upgrade to a new MBP. So I'm considering this Dell U2410. How well does it work with the older Macbook? Can the Macbook output enough resolution for that display?
