Hey All, 8 years ago I started a thread here at MacRumors forums about Trackpad++ driver (that thread is still alive, see https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/trackpad-alternate-trackpad-driver-for-bootcamp.1497761/page-25).

Now I feel it's time for the new thread dedicated to DrFan utility, which is a totally new fan control software for Apple iMac series (currently for 2012 to 2019 27" models running Windows via Boot Camp sans iMac Pro).

What inspired creating it: even with 2019 iMac models, Apple fan control logic in Boot Camp is still almost disastrous... first it waits for whopping 97-98° C in silence. Then EFI/SMC logic prefers to lower the CPU and GPU performance instead of kicking the fan in. What DrFan does instead is PROPER automatic control with user-adjustable CPU and GPU temperature limits, as well as one-click manual mode via tray icon popup. As for the DrFan automatic mode, it considers all thermal sensors together (not just CPU or just GPU) and preventively adjusts the fan speed, so that CPU and GPU temps never reach their default or user-defined threshold. That makes the DrFan automatic mode the safest and the most correct one, the Apple should have had created. Here are few screen shots to give you a better idea...

Currently DrFan is hosted here http://drfan.forbootcamp.org/download.htm (or use http://forbootcamp.org/DrFan_Setup_1.0.1_10012020.exe)

As usual, please feel free to post as many critics as possible. Rough critics and unleashed hate drive the progress ✌

I would like to try it but the downlink takes me to a page that has everything but Dr Fan. I hope they get a better hosting site of a direct link.

Just added second/direct link above. Cheers, Vlad
Important: no other fan control software shall be running when DrFan is installed.

Could someone running Boot Camp on a 2020 iMac with T2 chip conifrm: is DrFan RPM control actually working with such 2020 iMac system with T2 chip? So far 2012 to 2019 work great, but these generations haven't had the T2 chip... And this chip is known to limit access to hardware (T2-equipped MacBooks are good existing example).
