I got one of the new mac pros, arrived today. The new flat keyboard is cool, but at times feel too much like I'm on a laptop.

Well it is based off the MacBook's keyboard after all. I think it's actually smart having everything the same, then when switching between machines there's never an issue of getting use to the new feel again.

That being said, I liked the old one too.

I know I might be in the minority here, but I don't love the feel of the old one. Mine was wireless and the numberpad and overall shape were huge. the whole point of wireless is clean and mobile so for me the updated keyboards in the wireless flavor are a godsend. Also, I agree totally with the production point raised by samh004, I am a big believer in modular application of hardware components (or at least semi-modular for production purposes).

I currently have an iBook G4 so when going from the old keyboard to the new keyboard I actually prefer the new keyboard for my fingers don't feel cramped together. It seems as though on the new keyboard my hands are more relaxed and un-cramped.

new flat keyboard key commands dont work

I cant get any key commands to work on this new keyboard, neither the basic F keys commands or the not even shift-F5 for filling a selection with color in Photoshop, what am I missing. My previous keyboard worked fine. thanks
