I changed the image for one of my folders.

I opened the image in Preview, copied and pasted onto the little image at the top left of Get Info.

However, the folder itself still displays with the default icon.

When I click on Get Info, the image is there, both in the top left and the preview.

Thought it was as simple as copy and paste.

Any suggestions?

re: Mac 101: Change your icons

I already did that and it is not working, so that's why I'm asking the question.

I have just noticed that the icon does appear in list view, but not in icon view - which is primarily the view I wanted to see it in.

It's changed at last!

Well how about that - 24 hours later the icon finally changes ... weird.

Anyhow, problem solved :)

What changed? not sure. Had just done a find in Finder and it choked and closed the window. Then, presto! the icon turns up.
