Yeah, I have some kind of special skill of breaking everything Apparently, posts posted using Tapatalk don't get merged, which is what I was testing.

HH was helping me out - I was trying to figure out why two posts hadn't been automatically merged.

If you should come across any, just report them and we'll merge them quietly with no fuss.

I double posted yesterday, HH has since merged them. This was from Safari on my mac, but the posts didn't automerge.

That is because both posts had attachments The auto-merge hack has some limitations but luckily, instances like these are fairly rare. Overall I'm very happy with the hack, saves us a lot time and effort

Ahh! Makes sort of sense, is this something to do with the limit in number of attachments each post can have?

I don't actually know. I don't think it's that though since your posts had only one attachment each and the maximum is five per post.

I was thinking the merge hack can't count. So if one post had three attachments and another four the auto mere wouldn't work. Therefore to save it getting confused all merging needs to be done manually, if it had attachments.
