I wish there was a dedicated Apple gaming forum on this site that encompassed gaming on the Mac, Mac gaming hardware, gaming on Apple Silicon, Apple Arcade and the like. Right now we have "iOS Apps and Apple Arcade" which doesn't really include hardware, and "Mac and PC Games" that is too general and refers to software only.

Gaming on the Mac is now becoming a pretty hot topic with Apple Arcade, and Apple Silicon rolling out speedy CPUs/ GPUs. I think there should be a dedicated forum for this topic. Since iOS and Apple Arcade games will be playable on Apple Silicon, these topics should be merged to "Apple Gaming".

What does everyone think?

Well...you have Mac and PC Games in the Forums along with Apple Arcade. Not a real gamer myself but might assume from those I know that most game on both systems.

We already have a gaming forum for Macs, and the apple arcade discussions go in the iOS forum, I think that covers the need pretty well imo
I don’t know if “Mac and PC Games” really qualifies for Mac gaming hardware discussion.

Its the place where people ask if a given iMac works for playing game x, or can people play games on the M1, so it fits the bill, imo. Additionally, Mac gaming is not the Mac's strength - just compare what's available on Steam Pc vs. Mac, so breaking out a specific hardware forum just for gaming seems a bit over kill for me.

Gaming is not currently a strength for Mac but i think we’re on the cusp of potential change.

Not if you're talking AAA titles.

Maybe playing iOS games on the Mac, even then there's really little discussion that can occur with regards to Mac hardware and games.

I think the new M1 Macs can actually be better for gaming than PCs. Better CPU, better GPU, PC game makers have to be nice and let us Mac users play their games!

When they presented Apple Silicon Macs they showed the Mac Mini prototype playing Tomb Raider so that suggests Apple is paying attention to AAA gaming IMO.

You mean angry birds for the Mac? That would be cool I guess.
This is an area I will actually defend Mac's in. I play legit games all the time on my Mac's without issue. Titles like Metro Exodus, Divinity Original Sin 2, and other AAA titles. To say you can't game on Mac is straight ignorant.
