According to ifoAppleStore, the new location may open on September 14th, ahead of the expected launch of new iPhone models. The site also shared an image of the front of the nearly-completed store.

The store's new design is also scheduled for use in new stores in Portland, Oregon and Aix-en-Provence, France.

Update: Apple has announced that the new Stanford store will be opening this Saturday, September 7 at 10:00 AM.

The previous Stanford Shopping Center Apple Store was in the middle of the mall, thus making it one of the longest walks from parking lot to store, regardless of which parking lot one parked at. The new Apple Store appears to be much closer to one of the parking lots, thus arriving at the store after parking will seem snappier. :)

It looks almost as empty as the Microsoft store at Tysons Corner in Virginia.

But it's not open yet with no product inside. Just wait until it opens, it will be just as packed as most Apple Stores.

Microsoft Store should be happy

The huge Microsoft store, almost next door to the tiny existing Apple store, will no longer feel so inferior as it will be harder to compare the sparse crowds at MS to the overflow crowds at Apple.

...and since the first thing people do when they get to the store is go to a device and open a web page, they have in essence made Safari snappier. Brilliant!
