New Google search animation?

Does anyone know if the 'animation' when clicking on a search result is new?

It's hard to describe...it seems to sort of fade out the page towards you before loading the link you clicked on.

Not tried it on the iPhone yet...just can't work out whether I'm going crazy or whether it's something only just being rolled out, or even something I've just never noticed before.

Yeah I thought the same thing. I was using my iPhone when the link just pops up towards me

Its new plus if you hit the back arrow the animation is reversed and the link falls into place on the search page.
