Hey,
trying to understand how "location services" works under 2.1...
so... today i have left location services on... and i open up an app that uses it, and the first time i do so it asks if i want to turn on location services or whatever, i do, and then i return back to that app and use it... close it... and then don't turn off location services... and my battery life is seemingly unaffected after a day of this type of use.
it seems as if location services works like this:
-you open an app that uses location services, the first time it asks you if it's okay if it uses it... you say yes, turn it on, and continue....
-you finish using the app, location services turns gps off (or sleeps...?) ... until you reopen that app... in which case it turns on location services automatically without asking...
-and so location services can remain on in your settings, but only be on when an app needs it. (as it should work...)
is this so?
i've kept location services on all day and my battery is seemingly unaffected!
anyone else have this very welcomed behavior?
r.
