I know this has been asked a lot, but what exactly would have to happen to be able to upgrade the video card? thanks

I know with the all-white core 2's the vid card was essentially NOT upgradable because it's all soldered on the logic board.

Whether the new iMacs are more easily upgradable I'm not sure, though I very much doubt it.

FWIW, the original 24" also used MXM. But despite the efforts of some people, to my knowledge, no one was able to get a better card than the 7600 GT to work. And there is no aftermarket for iMac video upgrades yet either.

The problem is twofold: there are very, very few MXM cards available to buy (probably because I can count on one hand the number of laptops available that actually use MXM, excluding the iMac), so not many companies want to put money into developing something that has such a limited market. There's your classic Catch-22 part of the problem. The second part is that, even for MXM modules that are available, Apple has to actually provide drivers in OS X for these other cards. Which, as we all know, is about as likely Steve Jobs wearing something other than jeans and a black turtleneck.

Sadly, I agree. By the way, does Steve just wear the same outfit to every keynote or does he have an entire closet full of identical turtlenecks and jeans? :p

I hope you have a lot of fingers.

And then the the other ones...

Another problem as well. They should work in Windows though.
