Hello all! I am a new iPhone owner, as well as a Storm. Couldnt make up my mind, so im rockin both right now lol (yes waste of money)

As for the iphone, i had a few questions. I hope im in the right section, as i think they are general

1. Having trouble connecting to WiFi!

I have my router wide open and broadcasting, now iPhone can see the network but not connect.

I have tried restarting the router and also the modem.

Because of an old wireless card on one of my laptops I am stuck broadcasting in "b" signal instead of g or z, can this me why?

I'm desperate for help and would really appreciate it.

Anything else I can try?

2. Sorting contacts!

It would be VERY helpful if i was able to put my contacts into groups! "friends" "clients" "family" etc. or even "Work" and "Personal"

I'm not finding a way in the menu's. Is it possible? If not, is there an App that can help?

3. I got a buzz saying i had a new email but didnt get to check it until i was underground in a subway. When i clicked on the email it said cannot download email from server.

Is there a way to have them automatically download as son as i have a new one, so when i d check it i dont need service?

And a similar question, why is 15min the minimum interval for checking emails form server? Cant i put it on a 1min check?

4. I notice youtube is a mobile version and doesnt have a full selection, im guessing for formating reasons? Is there a way to access the real youtube? Or are there comprable site with a larger selection of vids to browse?

5. stupid im sure, and i should RTFM, but ... how do i zoom the camera? lol

6. when i go to settings>about it says Version 2.1

how do i update to the 2.2 i see people talking about? I would like street view

7. Ive read that having Location Services turned off can save my battery life. But what does that feature actually do?

i can look this one up pretty easily, figured id throw it in my laundry list of questions here for now

I haven't actually got my iphone yet so sorry I can't help with most things but I wondered about putting contacts into groups as well. It's something I use a lot so I needed to check it out. This is an extract from David Pogue's book iPhone UK - The Missing Manual:

"Many computer address book programs, including Mac OS X's Address Book, let you place your contacts into groups . . . You can't create or delete groups on the iPhone, but at least the groups from your Mac or PC get synced over to the iPhone. To see them, tap 'Groups' at the top of the Contacts list.

"If you do use the Groups feature, remember to tap the group name you want (or tap All Contacts) before you create a new contact. That's how you put someone into an existing group."​

Can't put your contacts into groups...yet!

I think you can access the real video by going into safari and typing m.youtube.com (I think it was, not sure)

can't zoom the camera unless you jailbreak

location services lets the maps app see where you are, but if one of your apps needs to see where you are it'll ask you to turn Location Services on. or accept.
