after reading these posts i just had to verfiy my current office chair was not a Herman Miller Aeron.
if it was
I would have had to take it outside and set it on fire 🔥

My Aeron story - I picked one up, and loved it, but then the gas cylinder broke after about 6 years... so I had it sitting in the garage for a few more years... Then realized it was repairable AND that Herman Miller said the chair was still under warranty (I'm not sure how long the warranty lasts these days). Shipped it to HM for repairs, and boom - good as new. The Aeron is built to last...

That must of been a pain to not have a chair for so long.

Steelcase sent me a whole new chair for one problem. Awesome service!

Sent the old one back once I got the new fixed one.

I have this and couldn’t be happier.

My experience with the return was also very good. The stuff is expensive, but they back it up.

I have a Steelcase Leap V2 - mainly because I heard it was the "safer" choice over the Aeron - the majority tend to absolutely love the Aeron, but if you don't like it, you REALLY don't like it, whereas the Leap V2 pretty much everyone says it's great. I have to say I agree completely. I got it used for I think $325 and it is the most comfortable chair I've ever sat in.

But I have seen those light gray Aerons and they are unbelievably sexy. The black Leap V2 I have just sucks up so much space in the room. Black objects tend to do that.
