Just upgraded to iOS 9 on my iPhone 6 and have been playing around with the Hey Siri feature.

Its actually pretty awesome but I can't help but think the feature is not being used at its fullest.

Currently, you have to plug in your iPhone in order to use Hey Siri.

Can the iPhone 6S do Hey Siri without needing to be plugged in?

Correct but this is one of the first things I'm going to be turning off. There have been times my phone is charging and I'm watching tv and Siri activates because the phone thought it heard the hey Siri command.

I use to have the same issue on both my iPhone and iPad so I turned it off on both. I turned it back on on my iPhone for the first time yesterday and so far I've not had any problems. This was before I updated it to iOS 9.

Can you change the trigger phrase from "hey Siri to something else"?
No but it seems to be 100% on voice recognition/rejection. I have not been able to find anyone who could set it off.

Apple has "HUGE' brand recognition with Siri. Its is a lot like Kleenex or Sheetrock and Apple wants Siri on everyone's lips. Just like the NFL announces keep calling the Surface an iPad.

yeah the "always on" feature for Siri is only for the 6S because the hardware update inside the phone.

What good does it do only to work when plugged in? Lame :(

One place I've found it useful is when you have it plugged in your car. Simply "hey Siri..." and you can update your navigation or whatever else you want the phone to do while you're driving.

Also, as others mentioned, if you're getting an S it's always on (unless you configure it not to be I suppose).
