iTunes has found an update for iBooks, brining it to version 1.2.2. Just wondering if anyone has actually installed it and if so, does it bring back the problem from a while ago where you couldn't open books with DRM?

Cheers...

I thought I read somewhere the new version uses a different way of checking for a JB and there is no fix out yet for it.

That Twitter post was written by a well-known member of the jailbreak community who has provided you with a previous jailbreaks as well as the previous Cydia iBooks fix for 4.2.1.

It's not like he's just some random Twitter spammer I happened across...

Many thanks - I knew I saw that somewhere and that was it. I will try updating later since it sounds like it should be fine.

Instead of starting a new thread, I'm adding to this one.

Running 4.3.3 jb with the latest redsnow. iBooks crashes when trying to go to the Store. I deleted and reinstalled iBooks and it synced fine, but crashes every time I tap on Store.

Running the exact same setup but it works fine here. Perhaps try and (re-authorize?) your iTunes account by login and logout of the Store under Settings

Nope - Same crash - Tap on Store - I see the Featured page and see the spinning circle with Loading underneath it and crash. 🙁

Thanks for the idea, though.

It's not a perfect solution, but if I boot into Safe Mode, iBooks works fine. So, to keep purchased books in synch between my iPhone4 and iPad2, that's what I will do.

... v1.3

Just a note to say that I let iTunes update iBooks to 1.3. It kept crashing when I opened certain books. I deleted it and reinstalled the previous version and it works fine again.
