New iCloud email

So, my iPad and iPhone are both showing a new @icloud.com address for FaceTime, iMessage and email. How does this work? Is it separate from my @me.com address? Or does everything that comes to one come to them both?

Anything sent to your me.com will also go to your icloud.com.

Just did try it. Sending to iCloud.com bounced back. Sending from resulted in SMTP error (acct not recognized). Hmmm... maybe just needs some time?
