Hello,

Does anyone know if there are any numbers out there comparing the bootup time when the OS is on SSD vs HD?

I'm getting ready to purchase a new iMac 27". It will be my first mac, and I'm trying to justify in my head the purchase of the SSD drive. I hear that a machine is faster if your OS is on SSD. I hear that it will bootup faster if the OS is on SSD. The question is how much faster? Is this increase in performance worth the extra $600 for the SSD drive?

Thank you.
