New iMac 27" own SSD, actually not that easy...!

    The next time the iMac line gets a redesign, Apple will likely make the SSD more accessible. Until then, we're out of luck, I'm afraid.

    I doubt it. Apple doesn't want the user to play with hardware, that's why iMac is AIO and RAM is only thing you can add. Now people have reason to pay for Apple to get the SSD with a nice Apple tax on it. I'm surprised that Apple didn't offer smaller sizes, 1TB + 128GB for 450$ would be okay

    They made the hard drive easily accessible and user replaceable on their laptop line. I don't see why they wouldn't do the same in their iMac line.

    Yeah, I doubt it. That hard drive hasn't gotten easy over the years.
