My new 4 days old iMac got stuck on the app,e logo today while trying to start, and the wheel kept spinning, have no clue what happened. Am doing a restore and hope it starts up again. Any ideas or suggestions?

You should have asked before a restore.
You should have started up in Safe mode first and try to repair permissions and the disk, or startup from recovery and open Disk Utilities there and do the same.

Wonder what the best way is to restore fusion drive? From recovery? Apple only has one documentation.

What I did was restat with the command R option and have chosen recovery from time capsule backup. My concern is does the fusion drive get created automatically?
Or does one need to restore Mac osx again and than restore from backup.
