I know it might be a noob question but idk. Don't know when the most recent ones came out. I'm gonna buy an iMac now or wait a year. Really doesn't matter I don't need it now. But I don't want to get it and then a new one comes out in a year. Any advice would be much appreciated.

If i was you, id buy a macbook pro refurb, then when the imacs come out, sell the macbook and get the iMac. Ive been doing this since my first powerbook. Now i have a 24" iMac, and i havnt spent a dime on a computer since my powerbook.
    Hustle n flowin.

My guess, August. But, I expect the only real changes would be in the video department. Apple might also "refresh" the Mac Pro, by just offering better video card options. I don't expect much else than that, although a quad-core "headless" Mac would be an awesome and unexpected surprise.

All I can see on an August iMac update is 4GB being standard across the whole line, 500GB hard drive on the base 2.66 model, 150GB hard drive on the top 3.06 model, and much improved graphic cards across the whole line.

Is this something they do every year? I mean is it guaranteed to happen? I am asking as I will be buying an iMac in 2-3 weeks and if this is the case I might wait till August.

I'm convinced that there will be a new iMac by Feb/March 2010. You say you're in no hurry to buy, so I'd say - wait.

My guess is that the 2010 iMac will have:
    -New Nvidia Graphics processors
-New Intel i3 or i5 processors
-Upgraded storage capacities - think 2TB
    -Perhaps an LED backlit Panel.

Will be worth the wait - really sure of it. ;)

No new iMacs before Q4 '09, more likely in Q1 '10. Apple can't update iMacs because new hardware does not exist. Last time they did not update the processor and they can not do it again. Updating only GPUs is possible but very unlikely and that would be a silent update.
