Hi, my brand new iMac 21.5" (just 2 weeks old) does not have the appropriate driver for my printer. My printer is a Samsung CLX-3160fn. The iMac has lots of other Samsung drivers, including one that's close (for the 3170 series), but the close one does not work.

Went online to search for driver but was not able to find one for Mac.

Does this mean my printer is just not compatible with my iMac?

Thank you. I downloaded the driver and tried to print, but got the same result as last time. It printed the page but THIS is what was on it:

    SPL-C ERROR - Undefined Command
    POSITION: 0x0 (0)
    SYSTEM: src/xl_pa
    LINE: 274
    VERSION: SPL-C 5.24 06-28-2006

What does that mean? I got the same thing both times--with the 3170 driver and with this driver.

    Help?

First off, Samsung provides a driver for your specific model. There is no need to experiment with the driver for a different printer. The connection between your computer and printer matters. How is your printer connected to your Mac?

Looks like you're using the wrong printer driver for OS X 10.6, according to the page that spinnerlys linked to above:

    Support for CLX-3160FN

the current driver for OS X 10.6 (also linked to by spinnerlys above) is:

    Mac OS 10.6 - 3.00 - Print Driver - 06 Oct, 2009

Also according to the info you provided (quoted above) you've got a PPD file installed for the CLX-3170 Series, not the CLX-3160 Series.

    Finally, working drivers

I have tried the Splix v1.1.1 on "http://guigo.us/mac/splix/". I installed the drivers and used the Samsung CLX-3160 - Splix 1.1.1 driver and it works.
    i am running MAC OS X v10.7.4
    Good luck. :)
