MakeMKV is great program to decrypt BR discs. It's $50 dollars but worth every penny, there is a free trial available. BR rips are about 25-30 GBs each so make sure you have enough HD space.

MacBluRayRipper also has a demo but I wasn't able to get it to work.

I've used a program called Mac Ripper for years and it works very well, i.e. it rips pretty quickly and looks excellent.

I rip DVD's and transfer to my iPhone/iPad to keep the kids happy on trips/holiday.
Average size of a movie like Toy Story for the iPad is about 1GB.

Do you use that program through Windows?

THIS is the definitive Mac ripping and encoding process using Handbrake. It completely automates 99% of the process and even allows scheduling of the encodes (overnight for instance).

Process:
1) Insert disc
2) Choose from menu whether it is a Movie or TV show
3) Choose name of the disc (for tagging purposes...it provides ALL the tagging info including thumbnail image)
4) Rips onto your drive.
5) Repeat 1-4 for multiple discs.
6) Run encoding script...or schedule it to run.
7) either copy finsihed encodes to iTunes, or have script do it automatically.

It's absolutely free and idiot proof. With a computer as fast as the OP's one could probably encode 15 or more DVDs overnight.

Blu-Ray ripping process is also included in this thread. It may look like a bunch of work, but after 10-15 minutes of simple set-up including downloads, you will be up and running and wondering why you hadn't done this earlier. It really is a hands-off, no-brainer system.
