My new i5 was working for about a week now my AirPort status says No AirPort Card Installed and I am unable to connect.
Please let me know any suggestions .. Thank you.

Boot from the restore DVD and see whether the card shows as available. If so, a re-install of OSX will sort out the problem. Otherwise it's back to the Apple Store for a replacement.

Update:
My AirPort Card was dead and although it has been a little over the 14 days the local Apple Store has agreed to replace the computer for a new one ..
I will be saying phew after it has happened which should be tomorrow.

Good News 😀
I picked up my brand new replacement iMac from the store and it appears to be great .. I am so happy and hugely relieved .. All the people I dealt with at Apple were extremely nice and helpful .. Thank you again for your support !!

P.s.
I think the first one was simply a lemon considering all the problems it had.
