new imac slot...scratching media ---anybody else?

iMac 24" DVD/CD drive scratches disks on eject
I have been noticing certain cd's and dvds will not work/play after I burn the data. Then I noticed 3 fine scratches (give or take) across the back. I re-burned and made visual note before and after.
My dvd burner is leaving these fine scratches across the back after ejecting. Not sure if there is a fix but just incase someone else has this issue. Purchased in 2010 runs fine otherwise.
