Personally I'm aiming for the 5K display 27inch model with M380 graphics...Christmas couldn't come sooner!

I am really liking the latest update, I may be getting the 27" model. I have a 2011 MBP and it is starting to lag. In addition to the iMac a will most likely look at an ipad as my companion to the desktop.

Somewhere!
Worth it to upgrade from a fusion drive to a 256gb ssd?

If you think you will have enough storage, then I would say yes. I have both Fusion Drive & SSD Macs, both are very quick, although the SSD has the slight edge when processing large files. Fusion Drives are still very worthy for the the money that you save and the storage you gain. It also depends on what you will be using your machine for.

Just returned a 2 week old iMac when I heard about this update. Got the base model. I run off an external thunderbolt ssd. Glad I saw this update before the return period ended.

Any recommendations for ram Upgrades? Should we get the 1866mhz ram or 1600mhz ones
If you're getting the new 27" 5K iMac, that machine comes with 1867MHz DDR3 memory so you'd wanna stick with that variety. I'd buy the basic 8GB, and then upgrade yourself to 16, 24, 32, or if you want to go gung-ho 64GB* even, all of which are less expensive than the equivalent BTO option from Apple. The installation process is very straightforward and dead simple. Just don't forget the anti-static mat.

*Apple's BTO for the new 27" 5K iMac doesn't offer a 64GB option, but third parties like OWC do.

I would have been an instant buyer, but this new DCI-P3 Color Space is something I"m going to have to think about.

Ya bit of a negative but I'm sure it will be fine for how I'll use the computer..not a real hardcore computer gamer..have an Xbox one for that..

I am so looking forward to seeing my photos shot with my 24M Nikon DLSR on this beautiful 5k machine!!!
Yeah.. Can't wait. I'm just waiting for more ram options to be available.. Seems like only owc is offering reliable 1867 mhz ram right now...
