Hi all, I did make another thread recently regarding the 27" and if it was a good time to buy and i was told to wait it out if i can. Now that im thinking about when they do upgrade them both what graphics are likely to be used? As far as I can tell there is no skylake equivalent of what is currently in the 21.5" so would this get a dgpu? And what kind of dgpu would it be compared to what's put into the 27"?

The 21.5 inch seems to have dropped the dGPU so I doubt it, they'll probably just get Kabylake with updated integrated graphics in the fall.

Previous 21 inch with dGPU just had what was in the 15 inch rMBP so when that's released you'll know what they may use in the unlikely event they go back to a dGPU in the 21 inchers.

AFAIK, the Iris Pro is now offered on Skylake chipset and I don't believe apple will change back to a dGPU this fall when Apple rolls out new iMacs.

I expect the 21" to get Skylake with the iGPU. I don't believe Kaby Lake will be ready (at least in sufficient quantity) for either the 21" or 27" come October so I expect the 27" to stay on Skylake and R9 (adding USB-C and maybe TB3).
