The upgrade eligibility is for people who PURCHASED the iphone July, Aug, September, not the upgrade date!!

I'm on with ATT now and apple is going to credit me ASAP. A new press release will appear soon!

Purchased July, August, September of 2008 = Eligible July, August, September of 2009. They are essentially the same thing.

YEah this sounds different, so regardless of where you are in the contract, if you bought last years iphone in July/aug/sept08 you can upgrade at the discount?

IS that what I'm getting ???

Yes, i made her repeat it 10 times, and as i was on the phne with her a 2nd press release came in internally.....it hasnt been released to the public yet.
 
"If you bought your iPhone 3G in the month of July, September or October of 2008, then you will be eligible on Friday."

IS THE SAME EXACT THING AS

"If you are eligible for an upgrade in July, September or October of 2009, then you will be eligible on Friday."

BECAUSE

"If you bought your iPhone in the month of July, September or October of 2008, then you are eligible in July, September or October of 2009."

Unfortunately, that's not true for me. I bought mine on launch day last year and yet my AT&T says I'm not eligible until 3/10/2010. This would be awesome if it's really going to be based on PURCHASE date!

I bought mine July 20th and i wasnt eligible (per ATT website) until 12/19/09. A little different wouldnt you think?
 
"Reminder: The new pricing will not appear in the eligibility tools listed until Thursday, June 18th."

That's why its not showing up yet for you.

me too, thats why I am dropping att and going with tmobile
 
Nothing is based upon when you bought your phone...it's all based on how much you pay a month to AT&T and how soon you are available for upgrade. If your upgrade time was July, aug, or sept, then you are a go for this pity upgrade price from AT&T.
 
I'm reading this as if you're a high value customer ($100+/mo) you're eligible to buy if you bought at the 3G launch.
 
You're all idiots and none of you REALLY know anything. I don't care what CS rep. you talked to on the phone. Everybody just shut up until any official press releases are made to the public. People on this site are so f'ing annoying sometimes.
 
Just as a FYI I just changed my order (by calling) from a $399 16GB iphone to a $299 32GB iphone.

My upgrade eligibility is not until December 22 of 2009 for those wondering. I did purchase the 16GB 3G when it first came out though.

mine was December 19th, so i am assuming i am safe here 😀


But i have learned, never assume anything!
