i'm interested in installing 5.1 to my JB'd ipad2 to see if it fixes the wireless and battery issues that accompanied iOS 5. there was no way that i would install the update if it meant sacrificing the JB.
I wonder how many incremental sales Apple gets when a jailbreak is announced. I wasn't planning on buying it initially, but I know I bought the iPad 2 as a direct reaction to the jailbreak finally coming out. With the iPad 3 (I know, but we can't call it "new" forever), I pulled the trigger seeing how similar it was to the A5 chip and assuming today's news of the vulnerability would come to fruition.
I bet there are a lot of people who will pull the trigger once this JB is announced and then more when it actually is released. Apple should be paying the Dev Team a commission, LOL
