Where is the roll up mini?
Don`t need a hinge to go bad just make it roll up to put in your pocket.
Come`on Apple get real futuristic hardware.
OK so make a fold up mini put it your pocket!
Someone is going to make this soon!

Touch id on my last mini was so unreliable I sold it, and won't buy another mini until it has face id. They can do it on an iphone so why not a mini?
This was my complaint too. Cause my iPad pro 13" is more so a hub controller for my smart home and media. I can leave it in 1 place 99% of time. I felt like i was forced to buy 1 cause tbh I need face ID just in case im holding something its easier to unlock. I haven't shopped for an iPad in awhile ive been getting away lately with just iPhone. I forgot that Face ID is limited.

I now have also a Mini 7 and I dont mind touch ID but I sure think they should do a Mini Pro for the sole sake of those who really want face ID, but not in a 11"/13" or larger, foldable or Phone sized package.

Ok, serious question: Anyone have a good answer as to why the iPad Mini has not moved over to M series chips yet?
I have the A17 and it’s perfectly fine, but…
Nonetheless, the Mini is the best iPad I’ve ever had.
They could put an M3 chip (same gen as A17 pro) into the iPad mini, but the problem is the heat would cause the chip to throttle down in performance to the point it would perform worse than the more efficient A17 Pro chip (which has the same baseline architecture as the M3 but with fewer cores). Honestly the A Pro chips are perfect for iPhones and iPads, and now even entry level macbooks.

Love my ipad mini and was looking to upgrade to this but I don’t like the rumours of the 60hz screen. Come on Apple you already charge a premium for this where’s the premium features?

Also concerned the price will tip me over the edge to hold on to my current mini. It was already expensive for what it is v’s the rest of the lineup.

iPad Mini is still one of the three upcoming devices I'm interested in despite rumors pointing to a 60Hz display recently. The picture quality matters more to me than the refresh rate for what I'll use a Mini for.

I'm also somewhat interested in how this vibration tech / water resistance rumor pans out. Maybe the iPad Mini 8 becomes my shower music/video device too lol
Several years ago I got a very inexpensive, but nice, Bluetooth speaker. It's water resistant, has a giant suction cup on the back, and has play / pause / fwd & back buttons; enough to at least pause media & change tracks.
IDK why I stopped using it... I need to break that out & start using it again!
I really did like it a lot.

are they really still going to handicap it with 60hz?
How do you know it will have 60hz? Its pretty messed up if they do. I was thinking of grtting the ipad mini if possible and it has 2Tb ssd built in. And of course running at 120hz. It will be useless to buy it at 60hz. Its like going back to 2014…

That’s just what the rumor mill has been saying and it wouldn’t surprise me from Apple

Unless you are regularly watching porn, nobody needs a video device in the shower!

Haha, I often listen to YouTube videos while in the shower. Technically I don't often need to look at it but having a bigger device would be nice.

If the Mini was going to be a productivity device for me, I'd probably be in the "lack of ProMotion = deal breaker" camp.

Sorry, what productivity tasks need ProMotion? Business monitors and Laptops are generally 60hz

Pages, Notes, and friends will be fine at 60hz

I get the shower thing, I like long baths and a YouTube video is nice background material

Text based apps don't need it, but I could see 120Hz being a benefit if your workflow includes video. The smoother feel is also just nicer if you have to read / scroll a lot on a device.

But fair point, it's not really *critical* for a lot of workflows. I personally get more benefit from my 120Hz Pro playing rhythm games than anything else.
