I'm kind of bored before going to work and thought of something. Call me crazy but think about the word "NEW". It's three letters. Then compare the letters to the number system.

N is 14

E is 5

W is 23

14 * 5 / 23 is equivalent to 3.04 or 3. Thus new iPad = 3 iPad or iPad 3. Just got me thinking because I saw a video on The Verge about when he though the iPad was going to be announced.
