heya, I thought I'd mention my subpar battery experience with my new ipp 9.7... (I do love it - especially the improved sound)

Recently purchased, setup as a new iPad, no 'power using', and I notice the battery drains quickly. I know I can always reset it, but prior to that, I'm curious to know of others' experiences. (I'm assuming it might be a firmware issue)

Example: a few weeks ago, it was charged to 100%. I then listened to two 1-hour podcasts (via safari), and later watched a one-hour streaming show. After that, it was at 40%. I don't use a smart case, and I keep the screen at less than half brightness. I've never had that happen with my first three iPads.

So far, I haven't noticed drain while it's asleep. I'm fairly sure drain is while in use.

Could the speakers be requiring that much juice? Or is 'true tone' that taxing?

Thoughts?

yep, again, just listed to a one-hour soundcloud podcast... started at 63%, and when i finished, the battery indicator was at 57%... AND i turned the screen off - so just audio. strange.

and sure enough, i repeated the same podcast but this time with earbuds plugged in, and the the battery indicator fell two percentage points.

IOS also has a setting for battery, maybe you find more information there.
