It's anodization, not paint. But yes, that does look like a problem and I would bring it back.

That looks like residue from the plastic the iPad comes wrapped in. In fact it lines up exactly with how it peels away.

Try wiping it first. When I pulled my iPad out of the box it appeared that the shiny apple had scratches on its surface but it all came off after I rubbed it. It kinda took away from the fun to see glue but all was good in the end.

You definitely should return it otherwise.

Yeah brought it in today and was exchanged for another brand new one. It wasn't coming off lol.
