How much do you think we can expect to see the new iPads priced at, do you think that they may be priced the same as the current iPad Pro?

Like others, I have no idea what Apple will do, but one interesting scenario would be if they followed the iPhone structure:

iPad Xs 12.9 inch: $1,000
iPad Xr 11.5 inch: $650
iPad 2018 9.7 inch: $330

The question would be; other than screen size, how would Apple differentiate an Xs model from an Xr model, such that a substantial price gap would be justified? USB-C connector? Laminated vs Non-Laminated Display?

Anyway, with the iPhone release, it seems that Apple is trying to create 3 tiers of offerings:

1. High End - Xs
2. Typical User - Xr
3. Entry Level - Models with older technology that still work well with the current Apps and OS

They could try to expand this approach to other products.

I would expect the pricing to stay the same, especially with the basic iPad starting at $329.

I do have a feeling Apple will keep around the iPad Pro 2 models at a discounted price, most likely a starting price of $499
I hope so

iPads are price-limited by MacBooks (especially the Pro line) and the fact that the Upgrade Program scam would never stick for the iPad (what's the benefit in paying a lot to have something you can't flash around at Starbucks nearly as easily?)

More like iPad XR and XR max. The 9.7” could be the iPad SE.

Apple has yet to make an iPad XS. It’s not even rumored. OLED would be a must.
I am not sure if OLED is a must-have. How good is it for image manipulation, editing etc - just;poking nice would not work for the folks who want to edit content and adjust colours etc.
It’s probably awesome for content consumption but the iPad Pro has to serve more purpose than that.

It’s a must have in the sense that they are marketing Super Retina devices. That’s the big sell on iPhone xs. That’s the next big selling point after they go with the Xr iPad. Apple knows they have at least a year or two though.

I think an Xr iPad is unrealistic to expect. Besides let’s hope that naming scheme doesn’t spread. Yuck.

Also burn in, vignetting, and too dim for true HDR.

Can’t see oled for a few years yet
By that time, microLED will probably be here. And it has all the benefits of OLED and none of the drawbacks. Perfect blacks, no burn in, super bright. And since it's so similar to LCD it may be cheap to produce eventually.

The new iPads won't have OLED. The cost to produce those is just going to be way too much. I think there was even a recent rumor that claimed this as well.
