So far my pencil has worked great with the new 10.5.

The .2s latency has really closed the gap between digital and conventional drawing media.

The pressure and tilt sensitivity seem to be better than on my launch 12.9IPP. I can now shade with more precision and change the pencil/brush width much better.

Taking notes is smoother and quicker as I see the writing immediately and can write much more like I do with pencil and paper. It seemed before I slowed my writing down just a slight bit to let the "ink" catch up to the Apple Pencil

Anyone else have any other takeaways from the ProMotion upgrade?

Haven't tried my pencil yet - will have to do it in the morning. I'm pretty excited about it because I do use my pencil a good bit, and I know when iOS 11 rolls out, I'm gonna put it to use even more.

I haven't had a chance to work with the Pencil on the 10.5 yet as I'm still setting it up. But, I'm curious to know your preferred apps for using the Pencil (note taking, sketching, editing, etc.)?

I tried to start something in anticipation for this in the iOS Apps thread, but it failed (https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/apple-pencil-edition-summer-2017-best-of-ipad-apps.2050437/). I couldn't get the ball rolling since this is my first time with the Pro.

Anyway, reddit is now my source.

That should help you out.

I love ProCreate and Adobe Sketch since original iPad Pro. Haven't looked at too many others yet.

Note taking? So far I am sticking with Apple Notes until I check out latencies on other apps.

Great info!

Before the iPP 12.9 1st gen was released I hadn't sketched anything in over 15 years. The Pencil just sparked it again. And now with the .2s latency it is about as intuitive as carbon & paper. But...you need the apps that work with how you flow.

Thanks for the links!

Not yet.

I agree with your post 10000x...

Promotion and that much improved latency makes drawing and writing feel so natural. I have to figure out Procreate, but what little testing I did last night blew me away. Thank you again for your response to me about the Pencil. Spot on sir!

Before last year I haven't drawn in many years but now that the pencil feels so natural, I cannot wait to find time to do more.
