has it been confirmed that this will have 2gb ram ?
If apple are cost cutting on this model maybe they won't bother.

we wont no what kind of ram it will have in tell the unboxing happens and every one starts runing geek bench on them

Well, going back to 1GB makes no sense and given that even the 9.7" Pro doesn't have more than 2GB, I'd bet a large amount of money that this lower cost option won't have more than that either. So by deduction, I'd say that 2GB is practically certain.

I agree. Putting 1GB of RAM would be terribly planned obsolescence, as 1GB RAM devices will have a shorter lifespan than 2GB RAM devices, we also don't know when will Apple make the cut, but if iOS 12 -or 13- drops support for 1GB RAM devices, that's too short of a lifespan for a new device (regardless if it has an older processor and screen, the iPad is new) so it would make perfect sense to include 2GB (not 3, it cannot have more than their flagship device -9.7 Pro-) so I'd say pretty surely that it has 2GB.

Why would anything be confirmed before a product release? And as @snow755 posted, Ram would not officiated until Geek Bench scores are tested/posted. Also, Apple never speaks of the Ram for iPhones or iPads during Keynotes.

Agreed. Even the iPhone SE has 2GB RAM.

At this point in time, Apple will probably face more software coding headaches trying to skimp on a few dollars by going with 1GB instead of 2GB RAM.

It's got 2 GB. The website clearly shows split screen apps in the marketing for this iPad. So relax. It'll be fine. This is one hell of an entry level iPad for the money. This is a huge upgrade for anyone using an iPad older than an Air 2. In every way it's faster, nicer cameras, more ram , multitasking, higher storage capacity...... FOR $329. This is the no brainer iPad for those that have been holding out forever.

There's really no chance of it having less than 2GB. When was the last time Apple released an iPad or iPhone with 1GB? The iPhone 6 in 2014?

I sure expect it to have 2gb's of ram. I hope to replace my Air 2 with the new entry level iPad. My air 2's battery is not what it used to be. I have to say though the Air 2 was and is an amazing device. It still has a lot of zip to it. With the new iPad having an A9 processor I am hoping for it to be even faster. I appreciate Apple lowering the price for it's entry level iPad. For people like be who use it for web browsing and videos etc it is a great thing.

Yet everyone in this forum LOVES to bash the new ipad... Its great to see posts like yours nowadays. I don't really know why people so negative, so dissapointed about everything apple does but apple's stocks and sales keep going up. If you look around the threads about the new ipad everyone is dissapointed like they were going to buy an ipad air 2 just before the new ipad announced and apple screwed them over...
