New iPhone 16 Colors Looking Increasingly Unlikely

Me too and lots of people I know. Problem is, he’s right and our anecdotes won’t move the needle.
If they had done a 16e mini in addition to the 16e using the 12/13 mini screen with the updated design and single camera of the 16e and sold it for 529 I think it’d move some units with very little added capital/operational cost but that’s just me

Well I have one, so I guess that makes me very special. I had no idea I was the only customer.
I always buy a protective case for a new iPhone and get a case color or design I like, often third party. I go with the closest iPhone color to silver as that creates a nice millimeter frame around the glass screen with the case edge out side of the silver. Of course that color is exhibited in the photo lenses area.
Apple doesn’t release sales numbers for individual products so how do you know how many iPhone minis they sold?
I have to agree. After I bought my iPhone 13 mini, Apple actually sent me a survey basically asking why I bothered with that phone.
For the most part, it was really down to price. I was a big fan of the 5.8" screen on the iPhone XS that the mini replaced, but I had to pick to either go bigger or smaller, and I went smaller.
As to why that form factor is not viable today, it's mainly because app designers don't consider phones that small. The interfaces are too big for that screen.
Over time, the battery on the 13 mini started really sucking, I was ready to upgrade when the 2 year mark hit.
If there is money to be made, Apple will sell it. The "Mini" experiment is over. No one bought it, so they quit offering it.
I don't know an exact number, but clearly not very many. Otherwise Apple wouldn't have scrapped it.

I bought several of the iPhone 13 mini model. The mini iPhone was the last USA model with a slot for a SIM card. As an international traveling customer, I need the ability to swap SIM cards at the border in the large parts of the world where an esim in not even heard of in their vocabulary. Also, like in the UK, their month to month pay as you go plans are SIM card based.
So there is a crack in Apple's armor. When my mini dies, I will have to get a different brand cell phone for SIM card compatibility. What happens if I find the other brand cell phones are actually better than Apple's product line?
There is, of course, the soon to be very expensive Starlink cellular experience, but even that is not available everywhere.

Steve always said skate to to where the puck is gong, not where it is now. The Apple powers that be decided that the lady's smaller hands did NOT need any design consideration (thus the end of the mini). I doubt Apple's brain trust has any idea of the lost sales for those that insist on a smaller cell phone.
To put it in perspective, the huge bonus checks are still going to the senior beagles.... bad decisions that cost literally billions not with standing. In a smaller outfit, folks that make a major screw up are rapidly erased from the payroll and pension plans....

15 Pro Max user, and I already decided to skip the iPhone 16 Pro this product year. Unless they miraculously announce an iPhone 16 Pro Product(Red), I'll consider buying one.
Make the phones hot pink, I couldn't care less about what colors phones are available in. Most people put a case on their phone.
Make a leather case again and provide it in many colors. Use synthetic/vegan leather, I don't care.
Any other material has too many drawbucks... attracts lint, or too slippery, or is hard to take out of your pocket, etc.
Leather stains easily but that's good for Apple.. people will replace their cases more often.
