New iPhone 17 Pro Max stuck on SOS

Anyone having issues with the cell service transferring from their older iPhone to the new one? Been doing this every year since the first phone and have never had the new phone not pick up the cell service. I'm on AT&T, BTW. The new phone just says SOS where it normally shows carrier bars. (The iPhone 16 Pro Max I have is still connected AT&T. Any advice welcome!)

Nm. The AT&T connection finally went through after a couple of tries and transferred the number from the old phone. Moving on.

I'm on a different network and country, but with Vodafone UK you can delete the sim, and they email a new QR code within a minute or two, not sure if AT&T has something similar?
