Better watch out brotha...

... I can hear them coming already ;)

So, basically there is nothing wrong with your phone, you just want another one to extend your warranty?

Why bother? You may end up with a phone that's worse than what you have now.

Head to London and go loot the Apple store. That's an easier way.

Aside from doing what is morally correct, you should just keep it. Apple generally will replace a cracked iPhone for free if it has the original serial number and you are honest with them. They won't replace a cracked replacement iPhone (starts with 5K serial).

Basically, what I'm saying is that if you end up running out of and/or voiding your warranty, you have better chances at getting a one time exception replacement provided you have the original phone.

That's great advice.

I had my iPad replaced recently after it was out of warranty for almost three months. It was totally my fault as I dropped it and cracked the screen. They said "you have never had this replaced before?" "no" "ok, even though it's out of warranty we will replace it for you"

Just so you know, OP, a replacement phone will not carry a new warranty, as replacements do not restart the warranty timer. So even if they do give you a replacement for no apparent reason, the warranty on the replacement will end 90 days after your receive it, or the end of the original warranty, whichever is longer.

No, if I wanted to do that I would replace it with o2.

Slight cosmetic damage, and I'm kinda particular. Besides, it's an expensive phone, doesn't hurt Apple does it? $73bn on hand?

Of course it hurts Apple. Is it OK to steal $50 out a rich mans pocket just because he won't miss it? No, of course not.

There are so many stories like this - which is why I recommend what I said above.

I think your better off purchasing AppleCare just in case there really is something wrong with your phone in the future. I did and don't regret it one bit! I just sold my 16gb on craigslist and bought a 32gb that had 2 months left on it's warranty. It's scratched a bit but it runs perfect!! But now I have 1 year and 2 months and that works for me!
