What's sad is that Apple is capable of so much more than this. This looks like a third party bought the rights to the iPhone and this is the mod they came up with. Not Apple.

This should have been the iPhone 4S.

yeah, man, I agree. Like I said, I care a lot more about the inside of the phone. If the specs get a nice bump then I can live with a bad chassis. But my god, these leaks, if true, are possibly the worse looking apple product in 10 years or more. You nailed it with the third party comment- it's like "the Apple iPhone, by pantech!"

I think Apple did a pretty good job of keeping the new Retina MBP design a secret. I think they'll come through for us all with the new iPhone too.

On a side note, I plan on putting a case on mine so I don't care what it looks like on the back.

That is very true. Although a lot of people expected a retina computer at some point, there is a lot more to the new MBP than just that display. And I don't think anyone saw that coming. It's without doubt the most "revolutionary" (vs evolutionary) product they have put out since the iPhone 4. Still, it's probably easier to keep a $2,000 product a secret vs a $300 product, but it does demonstrate that they can keep a lid on things when they really try.

Generating hype months before an iPhone release is all part of the game. Whether Apple does this on purpose or it's just the feeding frenzy of consumers, it has become an integral part of the iPhone marketing strategy. They know we're all watching and waiting with our credit cards in hand. I half think all these leaks were just a decoy to keep us guessing and to take away the Samsung SIII hype.

So this rumored iPhone photo confirmed the other rumored iPhone photo? Isn't that like me putting up a fake UFO video and then not that long later, putting up another fake video that corroborates the other one? "confirmed"

re: proposed Iphone 5 design

although I believe the shape change is plausible, I really doubt it will be much thinner. I am expecting LTE and that will mean more battery space.

This should have been the iPhone 4S.

So something that looks like it was designed by a third party should have been the iPhone 4S? Does anyone else see the logical flaw in this?

I can confirm that this is definitely what the iPhone 5 might look like. There is no doubt and I am 100% certain of this. I am an apple stock owner and, while I didn't go to the last holder meeting nor any of the others, it's a pretty well known rumor. Face it folks, the speculation is what it is.

It look horrible! There's no way this is real! Steve Jobs would never have designed something like this! FAKE! It's too ugly to be legit! God, I would never buy it if it look like that! It's a decoy! Apple has too much pride to put this out!

...*stands in line at 3am with everyone else to get one on release day* ;)

Apple is very clever. The longer, narrow phone will appeal to the women who recognize it's suggestive shape. I've seen many men on this forum call previous iPhones Sexy. This phallic symbol will confirm their opinions.

But then again, perhaps Apple will stick with it's safest bet. The well loved 3.5" size that's had thousands of up votes, hundreds & hundreds of posts originated by those who are staunch supporters.

It seems like such a minimal increase to 4.0", doing it via stretching it's length is an odd compromise. It sure doesn't look like one of Apples stellar designs.

The back with two different shades of gray does not look good to me. I wish that Apple would not use this kind of design.
