Hi everyone! I was glancing at the new Music section of Apple's website when I cam across that picture.

I then thought it was kind of black compared to what we currently have.

Here's a little comparison.

What do you think about it? Is it just me or it seems like Space Gray is not going to be back in September?

Looks to me like it's just the lighting.

I doubt any iPhone will be back in black. ;)

Yeah that's what I thought too, about the lighting and shadows...

But Alp3r suggestion is interesting. Is the Space Gray Aluminum of the AppleWatch Sport exactly the same color the iPhone 6 Space Gray is? Seems darker on the website..

Or it really is about the lighting. Ugh. I have a feeling it's not the same..!

Apple has a bad habit of darkening the color in it's studio product shots. Then you get the real thing.

I don't deny the color on the Apple watch is darker than ordinary Space Gray, but I doubt that color will be an iPhone option.

But hey, I am often wrong (as my wife often tells me) so you never know.

I guess time will give us the answer eheh :)

PS: I currently use an iPhone 5 since its launch in 2012, and I remember how the color was mesmerizing... Black & Slate. I don't like Space Gray, it's too pale :/ If iPhone 6S still is Space Gray, I won't change my cellphone and I'll wait for iPhone 7 instead :) iPhone 5 still alive, perfect condition, can handle another year :)

More than likely it's the lightning in this case.

They did introduce that with the Apple Watch, so we can hope they'll offer it as an option with new iPhones as well.

I can see them changing colors, but only if they use a different casing material that does not scratch as easily as the slate iPhone 5 did. It would be strange, however, if they changed colors since they just started to use them on the macbooks.

They appear darker on a lot of places on Apple's website, and have done since they were released.

It's strange, almost like they're embarrassed of the light colour!

They probably are... like how they edited out the camera bump in early iP6 press shots. I'm sure they'd like to still offer a black phone (because it looks cooler), but it chipped too easily/visibly on the iP5 (which raises the question of why they insist on using aluminum, but oh well). Hopefully they've figured out how to make the black aluminum more durable, or will figure it out soon.

EDIT: In honor of your UK location, I will edit the above: "which raises the question of why they insist on using aluminium..."
