...my 5S seemed to scratch rativy easily and I am certainly looking forward to a completely scratch proof display.

Then, you're looking in the wrong place. Sapphire (or even diamond) is not scratch proof- just more scratch resistant than Gorilla Glass.

However, you are one of the very few that I've seen ever posting about easily scratching their 5s. Generally, that's not something I see much. Cracked or shattered screens? Oh yes. Lot of that. Scratches? No so much. Yet Sapphire "solves" the latter while doing very little- if anything- for the former.

I don't know if what I saw was a scratch or a tiny crack, but it's definitely not hard to do. Drop a phone on a tiny rock, like say what is typically found on the street. That's enough to damper your day.

Drops usually lead to cracks or shatters. Sapphire won't do much- if anything- against those. Sapphire is about greater scratch resistance, not greater crack or shattering resistance.

I'm not putting it down, just pointing out how many of us have the wrong idea about what Sapphire is bringing. There is a tangible benefit in greater scratch resistance, especially for those (like jrswizzle) who have scratched the GG on one of the existing or past phones. It's also going to sound more prestigious than GG when it's spun in the launch marketing. And it's likely going to yield a more profitable parts replacement business for Apple when we replace a shattered screen.

Fake, fake, fake

Broken mute button?

Huge holes in the bottom to let in dirt, moisture, etc?

Non-seamless transition from screen to side of phone?

No square on / non-labeled home button?

Screen not functional?

Lightening connector doesn't look right?

Here's a question, how many of you follow the upgrade cycle of the S models or new phone like the 3, 4, 5 etc.
?

why is the phone scratched to hell.. My 5s is in better condition than that one

Because it's not a phone. It's a collection of leaked prototype parts someone glued together.

Jobs was the one decided 2G was a great idea for the original iPhone when the world had already moved on to 3G. 2G for a data hungry phone was a terrible idea!

Jobs was a brilliant man but he's not the messiah you think he is.

They sold every original iPhone they had the capacity to make, and provided an upgrade reason for us early purchasers. Seems pretty messianic to me.

Again, as I said in my previous post the popularity of screen protectors tells you that people care about not scratching/scuffing their screens.

I'd rather have a tough, scratch resistant display than have to buy a screen protector.

And ALL glass is going to crack if dropped. Honestly though, my 5S has taken quite a few falls and has yet to crack or shatter. Even fell out of a moving golf cart onto a horrendously paved cart path.

Just because they can't solve the "glass breaks" issue, doesn't mean they shouldn't try to improve the durability elsewhere.

Is this for real? You're trolling.....you have to be....right?

-Broken mute button: Uhh, its a combination of different parts glued together....its not a finished product.

-Huge holes in the bottom: Have you ever seen an iPhone 5C? Same holes.

-Non-seamless transition from screen to side of phone: Again, mashed together from various parts....

-No square on home button: Uhhh, iPhone 5S + TouchID.

-Screen not functional: Well no sh** Sherlock, its not a working device.

Looks like the display goes all the way to the edge and then the taper comes in. Think if display went all the way to the chamfered edges on the 5S.

I don't think this phone is going to be as massive as everyone says. Bezels seem as small as possible.

I'm just so happy for my pinky finger! It will no longer be so uncomfortable on the hard square sharp edges of the iPhone 4 and 5!

This looks good, like the iPhone 4 with silver band. Loving it!!
Might come back to black iPhone if this is true.

Resembles Lumia 925

it looks like Nokia lumia 925

Oh look! Another 4.7" leak without a 5.5" leak. ;):apple:

I've ended up hoping that there will be a 5.5" phone just because of how annoying you are about it. :|

I think this looks good. I'm not sure what I'll think if the phone has the dark front/silver back the way the original did, but I've liked every iteration of the iPhone so far, so I'll wait to see the reviews in September!

is it only me or is there more and more leaked info from apple since Steve left ?

I really hope he is not rolling in his grave as he sailed a tight ship.

haha... back to the original iphone style.

funny that i remembered people were complaining about it's ugliness when the refresh of 2,3,4..etc were out. now that we're back the same original design, people are liking it.

Hard to tell. So many of the supposed leaks contradict each other, so I suspect a lot of them are fake.

How bland.

J.Ive certainly has Apple under a spell, the guys got quite the easy gig. A few quick drawings handed off to his team and he's off on another vacation.

Nothing imaginative out of this flat slab. But hey! Isn't that the priceless Apple logo on the Back ! That alone proves you belong to the elite club, how impressive.

"Curved screen that folds organically into the metal body"

Nope. Nothing like the Nokia 925. In any shape or form.
