New iPhone 6 transfer cable still USB 2 speeds?

Wondering has Apple upgraded the cable to use faster transfer speeds? Since the newer iPhones come and iPads come in 128 GB flavours, it makes sense to get full USB 3 speed to transfer huge amounts of data.

I hate when iTunes sync speeds are limited to. 28 MBps. Also Apple needs to make sure that the flash chips on these phones actually support higher speeds.

Is there any report anywhere on this?
