A new video and images posted to Chinese microblogging site Weibo and picked up this morning by NWE offer a side-by-side comparison of an iPhone 7 casing against Apple's current flagship iPhone 6s.

Embedded below, the new video runs to over two and a half minutes and gives a much better idea of the prospective design than last week's seven-second clip.

Whatever the origin of the assembled 4.7-inch iPhone 7 unit, it matches the Space Grey of the iPhone 6s, and features the larger camera and repositioned antenna bands seen in previous images and alleged design leaks. It also clearly shows a lack of headphone jack, with a second speaker grille alongside the Lightning port where it used to be.

The model comparison offers an idea of the relative size of the new camera lens and the surrounding bezel that protrudes from the body of the phone. The video and images also line up with previous rumors suggesting the iPhone 7 will retain the dimensions of the iPhone 6s.

As much as I hate the idea that there will be no major iPhone revision this year as this is usually the major refresh year. The new iPhone 6 Plus SS or 7Plus S will likely be my next iPhone. I'll be curious to see if it does actually come with a dual sense camera, and if so, how it will make a difference.

No thanks unless it offers a considerably better battery life
There was another rumor that suggested it was supposed to offer better battery life. I'm still using an iPhone 6 Plus not the S version and my battery life is still pretty solid.

I kinda like it.. the antenna lines look better and the camera is finally aligned properly with the corner.

Also.. I don't get the complaints about the protruding camera, people want Apple to stay competitive with others, but you just can't get the same results with much smaller and thinner camera.

Great. Looking forward to grabbing this new iPhone. SO over the unwieldy size/weight of my 6s Plus and can't wait to go back to the 4.7" size. I'm still not getting what all the fuss is about over losing the headphone jack. Lightning headphones will do me just fine. Happy to have an adapter for when I need to plug into my Mac which is hardly ever. Ultimately, I'd rather stereo speakers, more water resistance and more internal space for important internals like battery. I am also looking forward to seeing what the possibilities are for lightning connected earphones.

Most folks rock a case, so to a large extent the body design is somewhat secondary...

The people I know that own an iPhone don't have a case; so I'm always bewildered when I read this statement. Is there any statistics that has been researched about this alleged majority of iPhone owners putting their iPhones in cases and put in an article?

I don't mind the camera bump at all tbh.

As for the lack of innovation, at this point I really care mostly about the software. The phone just needs to be good enough to run it. I'll consider getting this one if iOS 10 is exciting enough.

I usually upgrade my iPhone with every major revision, I started from the 3G, than the 4, the 5, and than the 6plus, so Apple has only made things confusing. For the first time I am going to take the risk and hang onto my phone for another year for the iPhone 8, in my opinion the iPhone 7 ain't worth locking myself into another 2 year contract just for the removal of the headphone jack and that hideous camera layout which is even bigger on the iPhone 7 Plus.

Wait to see in person.

It's a streamlining of the 6 form. No headphone jack and no additional frame around the camera means the iPhone is made up of at least 2 less pieces of hardware. The second group of holes on the bottom may be a second speaker + mic for improved home podcast listening (louder/clearer). Or it may be an improved mic for better call quality and better dictation listening. The reduction of lines on rear is further streamlining. Larger apature camera is further improvement. Also, more RAM, more battery and more efficient processor means improved battery life and better UX.

I believe this phone will be marketed as the crystallisation of the 6 model and so will embrace with confidence the "6" naming convention (e.g. iPhone 6x) as Apple prepares greater changes for iPhone 7 next year.

Still an ugly generic looking design. The antenna lines are like c-section lines. You can move them lower but they're still there. Apple can clearly afford better designers. While they're at it center the camera.
