New iPhone hardware this spring?

OK thanks! I wasn't sure if the date was announced yet or not.

I guess that would be when they would announce any new iPhones (or any other product for that matter) for the spring/summer, however you may define it! :)

On a side note - is interesting that it's all the way down at point 13 in minor problems. Seems it's more of an issue sometimes. However,
it's a bit higher, in the FAQ (under how to start a new thread).

Lesson learnt hopefully anyhow :)

I sooo agree with you! These people really need to get over it. GET A LIFE! GET SOME EXCERCISE FATTY OR MAYBE EVEN A GIRLFRIEND! This is a site that talks about rumors concerning Apple. It's all good. We are not talking about anything that ultimately makes any difference at all. We are not curing cancer or making foreign policy. If you are sick of the posts then dont reply. It really is that simple.

I love talking about when or if or what hee next iPhone will be. I also suspect many people come tot his site in hopes of catching the first hint at new
hardware.

My opinion:

New phone in June. Will have a series of minor upgrades over the existing 3G. Somewhat better processor, better camera, longer battery, louder speaker, stuff like that. 3.0 Software released for ALL iPhones. New features: additional gesture-based commands including cut and paste, MMS, Video recording, todo list, true (but limited) multitasking of 3rd party apps, chat.

I don't expect an HD model or a completely new architecture as rumored.

I believe Apple's goal will be to continue to grow market share on the current platform.

If the new iPhone announced is the one pictured I think i'll be quickly be snapping one of the current 3G ones, as that just looks fugly!

Hopefully the new one (whenever it is) will be much the same looking, just better features.
 
Run while you can!!! It's a cyclops. Stop looking at me with that eye! lol :):p But yeah I'll eventually be in the market for an iPhone but if the new iPhone looks anything like that I'll be looking elsewhere unless that cams about 10 megapixels..... p.s. notice how this mockup has a slant on one side of the keyboard and doesn't on the other.

For some reason I feel like Apple is going to wait until December or January for a new hardware version of the iPhone with a major software update for the current iPhone 3G this summer. I'll be expecting some impressive features like an iChat video camera, better backside camera, stereo speakers, more storage space, and a thinner profile on the hardware update (presumably in Dec. or Jan.) and things like copy/paste (please Apple!!! those three words are starting to give me a headache), mms, and video recording from the software update (presumably in June). I could be wrong with any of this but I feel like the iPhone 3g is doing really well right now and Apple will probably wait to replace it after it has been on the market for a year and a half once things slow down, just as they did with the original iPhone.

Original iPhone released end of June 2007. 3G iPhone released sometime mid-July 2008. Right?

Not quite a year and a half, just fyi. ;)

Yeah, now that you said that I realized that I was thinking about their announcements, the original being announced at Macworld 07 and the 3g being announced at last year's wwdc.... they are 1 and 1/2 years apart pretty much... but i forgot that the actual release dates were only about a year apart.... I see that now. So I would now say that it is very probable for a summer release of the third generation iphone. However, will they hold a new event for this or will apple basically have a the same wwdc they did last year??? Something to think about.
