Hey I have a quick question...When I charge my iphone the top right corner battery has a lightning bult symbolizing its charging, but the big batter on the display has nothing no percentage or bolt...am I supposed to see something there?

If you have your phone on lock, once it locks you should see a battery icon.. that represents the phone is charging...

the lightning bolt in the upper right lets you know it's charging. the big battery with the green juice lets you know how much is charged (w/o percentage). when it's completely full, the bolt will change to a plug. don't worry, everything you've got is normal. :)

When the phone locks i see the batter icon...then the lights go off and its a blank screen should the battery symbol always be on the screen while charging?
