My 2 year old SE just died, I had just put a new battery in and was hoping to get another year out of it or at least until fall when 2019 phones are out. I need a replacement ASAP and am verizon prepaid. I can buy a new in box 32gb SE on swappa for $105 which will work with my case and have a like new backup battery I can pull out of my old phone.
Option 2 is a certified preowned 128gb 7 from verizon for ~280 inc tax. This gets me more storage, another year of support, a better camera and a waterproof phone. I would have to buy a new case and I don't know if it has a headphone dongle as my car has aux in but not bluetooth audio. These will add another $20-30 to the price.
I have been happy with my SE and like the form-factor but I think I could live with the 7 sized , debating if the 7 is worth the extra $200. I use my phone for calls, texts, emails, navigation, podcasts, music and pictures but don't watch videos. I am leaning towards the SE as I am cheap and I think it is fine. What am I missing out on compared to the 7?

I went from an SE to a 7 and it was well worth it. HOWEVER, that was 2 years ago....I wouldn’t waste money on a 7 at this point because the phone is knocking on 3 years old.

Clearly the SE is the cheapest in the line. If you’re fine with that buy it again.
the 6s is also playing in the same room. I tried the 7 but was disappointed about the updated specs especially the camera.

So I would either buy cheap or go for a used X//XS which will be fine for a couple of years

Went with the SE. Hopefully the rumors of an updated ~5" phone next year are true.
