New iPhone storage full vs old iPhone same size?

So I had an iPhone 12 Pro 256gb and upgraded to the 13 pro 256gb. I had like 180gb free on the 12. I restored the 13 from the 12 backup and the 13 is saying I have like 7gb free space available. Any ideas?

Wait a few days. It’ll probably be fine. No idea why. Outside of that, maybe you don’t have Optimize iCloud Storage turned on for Photos.

I think it’s downloading more photos from iCloud than I had on my 12.
