New iPhone user. Speaker issue/question

Hello there. Just wondered if anybody can help me?

I today got a iPhone white 3gs 16gb model on orange contract.

I did not really notice till just now as i really did not use the speakers much. just synced some music over to it.


At the bottom of the phone there is 2 speaker grills right?

only one seems to work, i tried each one zeroing them out by holding my finger over each speaker to test and one does not even work.


Are there both speakers....or is there only one speaker anyway? it sounds really muffled at a certain volume

In the OP's defence he/she did at least state "New iPhone User" however 😀 in defense of the others here the tech specs do state the parts of the phone http://www.apple.com/iphone/specs.html

One speaker, One mic.
